Don -

These were 2 different auctions that I was talking about. My sons were each selling the same type product, so the same picture applied to both auctions. I set up both auctions, using Ebay's Turbo Lister software, and the picture came from my computer's hard drive. No copy was made.

Stealing photos

John,

What i think eBay does is run a 'duplicate file finder' on all auction items. If the same picture file shows up for two different sellers, it deletes the later one. I doubt there is even a person involved in the process.

And when you made the listings, you copied the files twice, even if it was just from your computer to eBay's computer.

To avoid this, you can modify and rename the file. Just crop it to a different size and give it a different name.

Andy if you didn't know, you can disable the "right" click of the mouse on your web site so "other people" can't steal your photo's.I know how long and hard it is to take all the photo's for as web site. If you want I can e-mail you a script for you web site so you can fix the problem that you may have.

Hi Jim;

That is a great idea - however - our socitety always seems to make life so difficult for those who actually follow the rules.

For example - many website use photos/graphics for visual reference that is tremendous in boosting sales.

Take myself for example - new to A/S - and about to embark on ordering I'm sure not just a few products and parts. As many of us have really busy schedules and may not get to things right away - or want start making a list of things as we go - then the first thing I am going to want to do is...

Make a folder that says: "Inland RV - parts order" and in that folder I am going to drop in all the pictures of the parts I need - as most are catalogued by their part number which makes this a really bonus and well thought out site - for the user.

I'm sure I am not the only one who does this - probably 1000's across north america and Europe....so why take away that great site feature for one AJP -

...besides for the 100's of other people who miss out on the ebay auction Andy just might get a few of them still looking for a AJP - when they find out the price the EBay nutty paid they will always remember Andy for his great prices and service - indirectly that ebayer is advertising "Airstream" and Vintage" so guess who is going to get more hits on a search (would'nt that be neat to track that type of business.)

Not being a devils advocate - as I am still a firm believer of asking permission before using someones art - but sometimes you have to ask yourself - is this type of stress really worth it.

Why just because of this thread - I not Peter even knew a jack plate existed or available - and just reading how to ground your trailer in areas that are not supplied with proper grounds - the metal plate comes in pretty handy - thus it just might be added to our list (going in prior to March 20th).

Andy we are looking forward very much in dealing with you soon.

Andy I'm glad you posted this as just this morning I almost placed a bid on this jack plate. That make me think to ask you if inland has them.
Thanks!

ANY photo can be copied.

If you can see an image on your monitor screen, it can be copied. Disabling the right click does not make the image theftproof, it just makes the copying method not quite as easy.
This was discussed on another thread some time ago.

http://www.airstream.com/shop/parts_exterior.html

I see airstream sells this same part there....

I see alot of things at Airstreams site that are sold on ebay for more money. This goes for Inlands parts page as well.. Its a shame people can't take the time to do more research before buying things.

We can't all be Walmarts.

Inbound freight does cost money.
