I'm just now placing an order for a new 2004 30' Classic. I've contacted the factory twice via email with questions during the past several days, and got a prompt email answer on one and an imediate telephone response earlier this morning on the other one. Both replies impressed me on the promptness and completness of the replies.
I hope that you buried all the bad karma when you experienced them, and all of our future ones will be as enjoyable as my recent 2 dealings with Airstream factory personnel.
