Access doors '65 Ambie

Does anyone have a closeup shot of the curbside access door and the rear access door. The PO put sheets of aluminum in place of the doors. They look ok but the whole piece comes out when open.Rear is screwed in at 4 points and the cs door has a hardware store lock hinge to keep it closed. Are both of these doors originally hinged at the tops to open them? I have no hardware for these if they do.Steve

Steve.

The access doors on a 65, slipped into a slot at the top of the frame, and were latched at the bottom.

No hinges were used.

How about a couple of photo's?

If there is any rear end separation, usually, the rear access door frame, pulls apart at the bottom, which allows the door to fall out.

Check each door frame (the part that is riveted into the shell) for anything that may seem strange.

Andy,Here are previous owner pics of the doors. They both slide into a slot and no hinge like you said. The rear is screwed on at 4 points with a no operable lock.Side is attached with lock hinge.I am looking for correct.
Should the rear have a handle?

Steve.

If I remember correctly, the rear door had a small handle on it.

I enlarged the rear door photo 4 times, and I did not see the screws your talking about.

Near the bottom center of the rear door, I see what looks like a simple lock.

The original rear door, did have a simple lock in that exact place.
