Retire you say? Be patient...........yeah right. Be patient but hurry like crazy. It's great. Been there for eight years and never regretted it. Been fulltimming for almost that long now. It doesn't get any better. I mean, we've got our tool box and our golf clubs. What else could you ask for?

Retire you say....ain't no fun if'n your spouse still has to work. I've been retired for two years now and have to wait for 'Sugar Dumpling' to retire.(5 years) Decided to start a new 5 year career...now this is fun!
Besides it's extra money to fix up the TT before traveling....

Keep the Shiney side up, or in my case the tan side up.

Dave

Retirement is great - and we're enjoying every minute of it - but be prepared for change! We thought that we would do the "Snowbird" thing - enjoying winters at our condo in Florida and summers at our camp in Maine. After one winter in Florida (---our former home prior to the past 9 years in Maine) we sold the condo, moved back to Maine, and bought a home to serve as our permanent residence. Reasons are numerous - but, in summary, Florida's crime rate, traffic, crowding, fresh water resources (---or pending shortage thereof,) lack of medical resources (---personnel,) and the obvious change in the hurricane patterns, convinced us that it was time to leave permanently. Sometimes you just can't go home. Where we're located in Maine we have a great choice of destinations that we can round-trip to on one tank of diesel, towing the Airstream!

Dave,
I retired 4 years before my wife, still did a lot of traveling with the Airstream, I would take the cats and the trailer and travel to vacation location and after was settled in my wife would fly in and join me for a week or two and then fly home and back to work. This allowed me to travel at my own pace and spend the time I wanted doing wildlife photography. We used this for trips to Florida, Texas, California, and the northwest area.

Enjoy the retirement.

I've tried to talk the wife into doing something very similar, even though we are no where near retirement age. *I'm* the one stuck working, but she is a "stay at home mom" to our son. well, she can do that anywhere. my job has to be done "here". no reason she couldn't take off for a couple of extra weeks in the trailer. But she's not interested in "free wheeling".
