Hi, I'm thinking of buying a trailer dolly. At this time I'm leaning on the Power Mover brand. It was suggested that the AC-8 should be a good match for my trailer. The AC-10 is a bit more capable and only costs a few dollars more than the AC-8. But then for only a few more dollars I can buy the AC-12 model. Anyone with experience with trailer dollies of any type or brand and is willing to discuss the pros and cons of them would be great.

Bob, my thoughts would be to get the one in the middle. A little extra capacity is good.

Ditto. The AC-12 doesn't store as easily or in as small a space. If you look at the web page at the AC-10 folded up for storage it seems to be very convenient compared to the AC-12.

One suggestion, whichever one you choose: Cable-tie the black power cord to the handles so that it doesn't hang loose as shown in the photo where you could accidentally run over it. Note that your photos show the cord cable-tied, my photo doesn't.

I have no experience with a trailer dolly. But it sure does look like a good tool to have. Please report on how it works for you if you get one of them.

i had my Powercaster PC3 at Jackson last fall. YOU sat within 3 feet of it at the fire one night. It's a great unit and made in your area. Someone in the Nor-cal group wanted to check it out but never showed up at my site. My parking area is tighter than yours, hard to believe , but it is and my 32 needs to be going straight in for a ways. Linda -Lu was not taking to me driving the Burb over the flower patch.lol
The PC3 is bulletproof and I've moved the 32 up hill in wet grass a few times before I installed pavers. It's got a switch to activate the trailer brakes, a must have in my situation. and It will operate on my Honda 1000 genny.
It only weighs 102 lbs. so it's light enough for me to pick it up and stash it in the Burb where I took out the back seat.

Hi, it looks like the Powermover AC-10 is going to be the one. I don't like the idea of alligator clips for the 12 volt power source from my trailer. Not to mention that my spare gas can is mounted on top of my batteries. My plan is to add 12 volt quick connects like used by tow trucks or on winches.

I have one that was made in Canada. Parkit 360 I think is the model. I've used it for about 3 years without a problem. I like being able to leave the Hensley attached and use the power jack to hook it up. My a/s is a 30' Classic.

Hi Bob. Your new trailer dolly is a really neat looking rig. I can't wait to hear how it works. I'm hoping that you will do an in-depth evaluation and post it here.

As an aside, the dolly is a very strange looking piece of equipment. Your neighbors must be thinking, "what the heck is that thing, and what is he about to do with it"?

Hi, Brian; When I get to actually use it, [Powermover] I will post about it. I'll just tell my neighbors it a new type of lawn mower.

Hi, doorgunner; This is the first year of the Galaxie, 1959. The most prominent change is the Thunderbird roof line. There were several other small changes making the Fairlane 500 into the Fairlane 500 Galaxie.

My question is: How do you put air in the centre wheel/tire of that dolly? They might have been better to equip that unit with "noflat" wheel assemblies?

One is supposed to do a pretrip on all that equipment before use right?

Hi, Dave; The outside wheels have their own valve stems. The second tire in on each side has a valve stem extension going through the wheel of the outside tires. And the third wheel in has a really long valve stem extension that goes through two wheels. [left side has two valve stems and the right has three]

Hi, OK, OK, I had to make some changes already. [modifications] I studied hard and decided that this was the best unit for me and my trailer. But there were a few things bothering me. First off, there were three wire looms to connect while using this machine. A 100 foot A-C cord for the electric motor. Then an umbilical cord for the trailer brakes. And finally a cord with two alligator clamps for connecting to the trailer's battery/ies. [that I can't get to] To me, this could cause problems while watching where I'm going and watching to see that these wires don't get caught on something while moving my trailer. Not to mention the brake controller switch felt weak and mushy. I bought a heavy duty toggle switch. I bought a new trailer connector. The one that came with It was OK but only had two screws for wire connections. I bought a real seven wire RV loom to replace the five wire loom with tiny wires and one incorrect wire color. I wired it up so my brake lights will come on whenever the brakes are applied. I wired it up so the battery power comes through the trailer connector instead of separately. And I used the third toggle switch to turn on the trailer's running lights. [Why? I don't know; Just because I could, I guess]

(1.) Stuff that I removed, but repurposed the toggle switch.

(2.) New heavy duty toggle switch installed.

(3.) New connector and new seven wire loom.

(4.) All wired up and ready to be tested, some day. [need my trailer to test] The third toggle switch is connected and in the box, but no hole was drilled for it yet.

Hi, today I finished my modifications. I drilled a hole on the side of the control box and mounted the third switch. Wrapped some wires together and stuffed them back into the box. From the driver's seat, [no seat] the switch to my right, is the forward / neutral / reverse switch. The switch on the left is for the trailer brakes and brake lights. The switch on the left side is for the running lights. Since the actual operating switches are on top, I put the un-important running light switch on the side.
