Timeless travel trailers

As I was going home from my fathers place where I'd been working on my Globetrotter. I noticed a lot full of Airstreams about a block off a road I travel all the time. I drove over there to see if they were parting any out and found that their business was restoring and customizing Airstreams and other aluminum trailers. I asked for, and received, a tour and I all I can say is WOW. I have driven up and down Ward Road for over 20 years and never saw this place. It's only about a mile from my home. Check them out at Timeless Travel Trailers - We remanufacture your vintage travel trailer.

Yep, pretty cool, huh!? They actually came out to one of our Maintenance rallies two years ago (I think when they were just starting up) and brought a trailer they were working on (one of our member's). Seemed like nice guys...nice job on the trailer too.

Speaking of trailers "around town"...have you noticed the "stash" over by Lakeside? Not just Airstreams...I can't recall, but they may be the Timeless Trailer's inventory trailers in waiting...looks like a couple of cool ones, but you can't really get close enough to tell the particulars.

It's best to see them this time of year, before the trees bud out, they are down in the racetrack (?) area between Lakeside & the old Target.

At that time, Bret (Brent?) talked about putting together a multi-manufacturer vintage rally locally...we spoke about doing something co-hosted with the local VAC folks...but it hasn't yet materialized - at least that I know of.

It looks like they do really nice work. If you go to their website, look through the portfolios. A lot of neat pictures.

There was 3 60's bambis in the shop with a couple more outside. Also a 60's Globetrotter getting a frame off restoration. Most likely 15 more Airstreams outside of various sizes. With my "old timers disease" I've already forgotten their names. There was a 73 23 foot Safari awaiting delivery that was gorgeous.

Check out the prices of the new Airstreams and you can readily see how restoration is beginning to make a lot of sense! Even from a strict financial viewpoint.

Moosetags,
I went to Timeless last fall when I was in Denver on a business trip. I saw a 40's or 50's Westcraft trailer and a late 40's Spartan trailer that Timeless was building for the Water Color Resort near you in Santa Rosa Beach. They were pretty spectacular. Have you seen either one?

Has anyone used Timeless Travel Trailers either to restore, remodel or do a custom new build?

I think they probably do not charge close to what really goes into the job. I know that happens at my shop all the time.

"way too much"? probably not. i would say they are costly.

any time you make unique products like they do, the time clock spins much longer. i think anyone that has done a restoration will back that up.

This stinks of sour grapes by one commercial vendor speaking out against another commercial vendor who coincidently happens to be in the same state. Shame on you. A moderator should remove this post.

Too much is subjective but I wouldn't say custom units are catagorized as affordable in the average sense. I wish I could afford them. TTT has two Airstreams in the Air Forums classifieds right now, a Safari for $88,000
Custom Rebuild 2003 Safari 25' - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale
and the kitchen Airstream for$120,000. Timeless Custom Airstream Catering Kitchen - Airstream Trailer Classifieds - Airstreams Trailers For Sale

I have read articles from Airstream Life on TTT but never have had the pleasure to see these cool units except on the internet.

The Vintage Airstream Life » Blog Archive » Timeless Art

An interesting point made in this article was "Timeless is one of only a few custom builders allowed to purchase empty unfinished trailers direct from Airstream. This is recognition of the excellent work they do creating custom Airstreams for moneyed clients. Some of Timeless’ creations cost upward of $300,000 or more."

I don't know that the poster had meant any harm in the comment about the cost being dear. Definitely top drawer and upscale to me and looks like they achieve great results. Take a look at their gallery. It's fun to browse! Or maybe you'll want to pick out a couple for yourself.

A couple of summers ago I found myself in Denver with a little spare time so I called TTT and ask for a tour! I was really impressed! The owner gave me a tour that was in the range of an hour. He could not have been more hospitable. Their projects included custom work on new shells to complete restorations. Yes there are those among us who can afford to completely personalize their trailers. If I was in that group I would chose TTT first!

I seam to have ruffled some feathers with my statement "To bad they charge way too much." I in no way think that TTT does bad or work. It is simply my opinion that they do charge a very high premium for services rendered. If that offends any one including TTT I am sorry...

A couple in our unit has a custom built by Timeless. Really a nice job. They got special features for specific needs. Timeless does weight balancing, etc. during the design. So the trailers work well when they get done.
My thought is there is no point in doing a custom build on a new trailer unless you need special features or you can easily afford a higher price for a different look.

...and they would be worth every penny! Just trying to figure out a way to swing the catering kitchen for a career change

Couple of years since my last post on this thread...since then we have gotten to know Brett & the work TTT does pretty well. They do 100% CUSTOM work - from "tongue to bumper" for not that much more than an "off the line" trailer from Airstream...I would be thrilled to own a custom trailer built by TTT knowing it has been constructed & engineered to the level I know they are! I have seen several of their trailers both at the shop, at shows and when they have brought them out to rallies to share. Brett has also been gracious enough to open his shop on a Saturday for me to host a DenCO Unit "field trip". We have also worked with TTT to have some custom bits & pieces made for us during our own DIY restoration. The craftsmanship & attention to detail is superb ~ B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L!
