Finally..... something intelligent to do with a pumpkin. Did you put a silver candle in it?

It's been a while since I posted that. I think the picture was of this trailer at the Moraine View Airscream rally. So go back and look again at the new picture I posted. This isn't the original (what happend to the picture is beyond me), but this is a pretty good one.

Thanks for the great ideas. I will have to do this and set them up on our porch on Halloween. We get a LOT of kids past our place and pretty much everyone in the area knows we have the AS hidden out back. Now if I can also carve one that looks even remotely like the '57 wagon I'll be set.

Printed the picture, taking it with me
To the New England Unit's "Harvest Moon, Great Pumpkin Rally being held this weekend. I'll try to make an exact copy!
I won't be able to win the contest though, something about being one of the judges.......

here are some tips.
Cut out the bottom and do you're scooping from there
Use a sharpie to mark everything in advance of cutting
The awning is a thinned piece leftover from the bottom
Cut the door window BEFORE cutting the door
The AC units are the window cutouts.
Use toothpicks for the awning and door.
We had a blast making this one at the party. It was a non-Airstreamer crowd but most of the guests knew we own one and immediately knew what it was.

Way cool pumpkin!
I would cover it with aluminum and it would be perfect! Naturally cutting out windows, doors, etc.

I seem to remember someone who wasn't from this forum though, put his wife in a pumpkin shell and there he kept her very well.
Ours isn't orange but it keeps me very well.
Congratulations, great ingenuity and carving!!!!

That is our little 78 Argosy 6.7 Minuet hiding behind that pumpkin mask. Yes, it was at the Moraine View Airscream Rally a few years ago. We haven't been able to get back to Moraine to visit all of you again, but THAT was fun!!!
