Not every suspicious potential buyer is... untrustworthy.
I sold some meteorites, here in the Las Vegas area, to a Chinese couple who spoke Mandarin Chinese and some English. They paid in cash. Meteorites are lucky in China.
The called the next day and I could not understand what they wanted, but said I would be home. They wanted an Amethyst Cathedral from Brazil that was on a shelf. Actually his wife saw it and could not sleep that evening... wanting it.
Once she pointed at what they wanted... we made the deal and now my wife has room to put some other 'wonderful dust collector' in its place.
OK. I will shut up. But... trust no one you are not familiar. They will make you think you are their best friend, smile and have a lot in common with you. Some are so smooth, they could become actors in a movie. But... the Sting... could be coming. Just be nice and do not take any shortcuts closing the deal. If it is a weekend and they insist... Take a $100 non refundable cash deposit and will hold it until Monday with an exact time the deal is cancelled.
Get their information and stipulate the agreement down to the last non copper cent.
Now... check up with your State rules on signing over the title without them wanting their name on it. Some want it... blank, but your signature and a bill of sale. Automobiles can be very tricky.
If they refuse... you have your answer.
