Is summer ever going to end?

94 degrees in Phoenix today. We have been setting record highs every day for about a week now I am getting tired of it. Will it ever end?

Richard, you know those vacations where people swap houses? We had snow pellets yesterday. Tonight is supposed to be the coldest in 7 months ... It's currently 32; getting down to 21 degrees tonight. It's all yours!

And it's not a 'dry cold' -- it's dank, breezy & soaks thru yer bones. Know those threads where southern tier members joke with questions about how to summerize their Airstreams? Hah! BTW -- I didn't have my Airstream's A/C on a single time this year, although we could have used it a couple times while boondocking.

Did I also say? We've got about 500 cubic feet/second flow in the little river going by the back of our yard... thirsty?

I'm heading to Apache Junction, AZ via Southwest on Thursday, hope it's down to the 80s by then.

Frost on the pumpkin here in NH, It's 33F outside and the inside temperature is 61F. Just cranked up the pellet stoves to warm the house up a bit.

Will Summer ever end?

I hope not. I hate it when it gets down into the '60's.

It's 46 degrees right now in central Arkansas, and we're expected to have a light freeze tonight!

I can't really think of a good way to protect my garden in the next couple hours. Guess I'll pick all the good bell peppers and maybe drape a sheet over the tomatoes. Broccoli should be fine.

We could use some of that water down here in GA! As for summer ending, it is ending here today. It is supposed to freeze here tonight. It's already 43. *brrrr*

Still hot, even if it's a "dry heat".

Summer? Some one had a summer this year? Your just joshing us aren't you....

As I look out the window at the hard rain washing the streets down, once again, and wonder what the sun looked like when I was a kid - I remember those days sort of....

You know its things like this that make me stop and remember to count my blessings, that there are people in this world suffering from excessive heat, lack of water, and even heat stroke while I'm out raking leaves, enjoying cider and donuts, or even watching a hockey game without running up the utility bill. Please feel supported, as you might know, Michigan has sent many of our retirees out your way with a mission to console you this time of year, we hope that you appreciate the great sacrifice they are making to remind you that you are not alone

Yep. It's snowing in Kalamazoo, MI right now.

Beautiful, lovely, snow.

We just returned with Lucy from the UP of Michigan. We had gone up there to look around after stops at JC and Hensley. We were hoping to do some Moose viewing. We toured the Moose Range around Newberry for several days without any luck. The temps were dipping below freezing at night and we had trouble finding any campground. The whole area closed down like Miami in the summer. The last of the campgrounds were closing on October 31, so we headed home on the 30th. When we got home on the 1st, it was still summer here. It's supposed to go down into the 40's here tonight. I think summer is finally over.

We're getting Lucy resupplied and cleaned for her next adventure. We'll do Jacksonville for Thanksgiving and Christmoose. Then we hope that it's off to Las Vegas and San Diego after the Can Opener Rally.

Azflycaster, I've been wondering the same. I missed
spring this year, I was out of town that day.

Hey, I'm with Richard and the rest of us desert rats...we deserve a little cool weather after this long hot summer thing...but it's supposed to cool off this weekend, as Richard noted. We had the furnace guy out today to check the furnace for the winter season...I joked with him that if it didn't cool off soon we may never need it!

We got back from a week in the White Mountains (Show Low, AZ) on Oct 25th...it was cool up there, but not really cold...though it did get 27 degrees one night and 29 two other nights and in the low to mid 30s the rest...nice change for us...come home and it's 93 again! I finally got our travel log website (link below) updated with that trip if you care to take a look-see.

We are gong to tryo to head out for a 4-day weekend Friday since the weather looks better...somewhere nearby, but haven't decided where yet...

We're going to Las Vegas over Thanksgiving and staying at the Oasis RV park at I-15 and Blue Diamond Rd. It's supposed to be a very nice park. If you are going to LV, you may want to check it out. I'll take some pics while there and post them if you are interested.

We would really appreciate that. We have never camped Las Vegas before.

If that's the one that went private after being a KOA, it IS nice. We stayed there two different times, once Pre-KOA and once after. Well run on both occasions. Enjoy!

Well, it got down to 32 this morning in North Georgia. AND we had a frost! At least that will take care of some of the bugs we have fought with all summer.
