Yes I got sent home after 2 weeks! Had a non waiverable medical condition that the recruiter thought could be waived.

3,323.5 plus 17 is 3,340.5.

We are taking the kids up to the veterans home to visit their great granfather. We could visit any number in my family but Papaw is a WWII and Korean war hero. The man has seven bronze stars and a silver star and some band aide hearts. He was under Patten w/ the Big Red One and marched from North Africa, where he helped kicked the Grey Fox's butt, all the way to Berlin, where he helped finish kicking the rest of Hitler and companies butts. He still has his uniform and discharge papers w/ all of his awards and medals, talked about some serious tossed salad ( boy does he have some stories). The other Granddaddy was a flight engineer aboard a bomber in the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII where he and his crew flew far more than the magic 25 number in the flic the Memphis Belle. My Dad was a marine in the 60's, nuff said, both my brothers served as well, one in Panama and the desert ( 11 bang bang/Airborne Ranger), the other Navy( medical discharge), a few Uncles and several cousins also served. I'll be calling them all this weekend, Huuuuuuuaaaaaahhhhhh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel remiss in not mentioning my grand father, the other I mentioned is my wife's. My grandfather wasn't technically a veteran, medical kept him out. He gave his life doing his part hauling military supplies stateside in 1943, he was going through a curved tunnel and when he came around the curve there had just been an accident and witnesses on the scene say that he sacrificed his life by slamming his truck into the wall instead of plowing through the wreck and numerous motorists. My grandmother was pregnant with my aunt at the time and my Dad was three years old and other aunt was 5, it was a lot of tough years for the family after that tragedy. Even though I never knew him and he wasn't technically a vet. I always thought of him as so. My grandmother said there wasn't a better man anywhere, she never remarried and still cried on his birthday and day of his death 50 years later. I guess I'm saying this because I want people to know that some who didn't serve in the military still served. Hug a vet this weekend or anybody else you know who "have done their part". Thanks.
