I have thought that when my wife retires, we may want to move to California. Which of the 6 new states should I move to?

But they are going to be pretty small so you really limit yourself. No one wants to camp where you can easily spend a day at from home. Maybe in one of the states next to the one with the best camping.
I agree that the north has the most interesting camping in the summer. Maybe I should be in the middle so I only need to travel thorough a couple states to get to both summer and winter camping in what used to be in the same state. I hope I won't have to agricultural inspection at each state border.

Jefferson might be a good choice. When Oregon splits, the southern most part may join that state. Plans for the state of Jefferson have been going on for decades. Search "State of Jefferson".

That sound cool. I like Medford OR as an idea of a place to live.
They better get to it. I'm 70 already. That only gives another 5 decades or so.

We live a short 45 minute drive (1 hour or so towing) from South Lake Tahoe. Nice living. Sacramento is the same distance west. Of course another hour to San Francisco and the Pacific Coast. Any place north of these is great living.....expensive as California is anyway. We have lived in the Reno / Tahoe area (Nevada) for 8 years. LOVED IT!

Looking a little boring, like we'll still be in South California. Was hoping for something new and snappy (insert creative funny state name here).
I think our flag should be a mix of the US and Mexican flag (insert artist rendering here).
And our animal...hmmm....stingray?? meerkat?? my dog, Trixie??

If you want to get all the benefits Ken (oil and water and Harper) you might consider north of the Columbia River. All that area is going to be given back to Canada in exchange for water flow to California. It will probably happen sooner than later so you may get to enjoy it.

I guess you're a forgetting that I spent the first 50 years of my life in the area north of the Columbia. Still my home as far as I'm concerned. However that is a matter of spousal disagreement. Maybe if I can get her hooked on pot, we can move back to Washington, if I tell her the pot is better there.
I don't know if Canadians are taught about the famous battle cry, " fifty four forty or fight." I thinks that's still hung up in some congressional committee, but who knows.

Texas passed on using the Jackalope in favor of having two state animals, the Longhorn and the Armadillo, so all those poor Jackalopes are left without a state to call their own. I think South California is on the edge of their native habitat…

Aha! And, having the Chupacabra would certainly help keep everyone from migrating to South California and over-populating our area.

I vote for chupacabra for South California.
Bigfoot should be saved for North California. With all the MJ grown and consumed there, a lot of them are seen. I don't know if it is because the Sasquatch are stoned and let their guard down, or the viewers are hallucinating.

How about Calijuana. You figure out the flag.
