Sharing the silver magic
So we're sitting at home in front of the fire on a peaceful Sat. night, and our 30-something daughter and her beau, and a very lovely couple--parents of a sweet 8 mo.old babe-- ask if they can hang in the A/S after putting the baby down in the daughter's studio above our garage. Of Course! We say. So they're out there now, with candles, music, board games, and pizza (and the baby monitor) and we're in here chuckling at how our lovely cocoon has seduced yet another generation...Just for the ambience. Gotta love it.
(In the meantime, yes--I'm checking on the baby.)

Janet - Yes, that ole Silver Magic can be powerful to visiting family & friends. Like you, I had friends & family use / play games in / stay overnight in our Classic. Several times something or other got broken because if you don't own an RV you might not know how all the mechanisms work. So now the rule is that we'll take folks out there (to her 3-point hookup storage shed) for games, meals, to watch a ball game - whatever. But NOBODY is in the trailer unless one of us is with them, and nobody sleeps in the trailer but us. We purposely built a small'ish retirement home and frequently have more overnighters than expected. In those instances, visitors take over the 2 bedrooms, the sofa, floors, etc and we sleep in the Stream. Period. Haven't had an expensive repair now in years.

All went well with all involved, and the only damage is yet to be done to a young family's wallet. They have those aluminum stars in their eyes...

Hi, ask them if they would trade the baby for an Airstream; Just kidding. As for candles in the trailer, only if they are fake or not lit.

Our 'kids' complain that it is too noisy when it rains on our AS. But our 5, almost 6, year old grandson loves to 'hang out' in it. I don't like to leave him in there by himself but force myself to 'trust' that he will behave himself. When he leaves I go into the AS and turn off the lights he has left on. Gotta trust him. Now his 2 1/2 year old brother may be a different story. See you two at Casini.
Neil.

Bob, we use those fake candles made of real wax--they even flicker. (Thanks for the idea TKNELLE)
Neil, looking forward to seeing you and Lynn again. Only a few more weeks!
(PS: Propane tanks are always off when the A/S is home.)
