Where do I start troubleshooting? Manual says there's a 4 amp fuse "above the steering column." Where's that? The steering column is vertical. Behind the instruments?
That a tough one to fix some times. Is it a factory one or aftermarket? Look at the carb/thottle body first. Make sure the "chain" or some type of linkage is connect still. Also some have vacume lineslook at them too. As for the fuse it should be in the main fuse panel. If the fuse is good and you are getting power to the unit. The unit is most likely bad.Jim
Jim, It's a factory unit...looks just like what's on my Suburban. Throttle linkage OK, vacuum hooked up, no fuses in panel for cruise, all fuses working. 6 pages of troubleshooting in manual, but manual is for a 29,32.5 and 34.5...doesn't match my rig at all.
Try getting a Chilton book for the same year Chevy truck. It shold help you on what to check. The color of the wires may differ but the plugs are all the same 99.8% of the time.Jim
