Dead doorbell on '92 30'

Bought a '92 30' and got an earlier manual with it. Doorbell doesn't work. My manual says fuse is "at doorbell at fuseblock". Where do I start? Where is the bell or fuse or fuseblock?

Thanks,

Andy?

I think they made a point to hide the doorbell in a different location every year. A lot of them are under the front couch.
You could also start by carefully prying out the door bell button and connect the two wires. I could be your switch. Careful, mine is 12V + at the button.

Just to cheer you up: we just bought a 1990 30'. We have the "right" manual.

Aren't we lucky????

We are still looking for a single page where book & trailer agree 100%.

Your best bet is do like we do: to save time, make believe you don't have a manual. Saves a lot of agravations.

Door bell:

I don't know if we are supposed to have one or not. Under the key hole (low part of handle), we have something that looks like a gob of chewing gum (must hide a hole from a bolt).
I suppose that's where our button should be, if we had a button.

Now I must wonder: who needs a door bell with a trailer ?

Isn't that what a good smack with the palm of the hand is for? Try it, that aluminium box is sure loud.

doorbell

Chime was found on wall behind swivel chair behind passenger seat...has 12v and chimes are free. Couldn't trip it because I couldn't reach it. Pulled out the button - all corroded and wires broken. Any ideas how to get to the button wiring from the back?

I want a doorbell!!

Petermh kinda got me started on it at our "Austin Forums" rally this past March. Came in on his fancy classic mh and chided me on my lack of a doorbell. I have been eyeing a shiny stainless steel mounted door bell button at a local highline hardware store and think I am almost ready for one. Am I nuts??

Will a 24 vac ringer work on 12 vdc? Will a 24 vac door button illuminate on 12 vdc? I guess the hard part will be running the wires, huh? If I do it I want it to be factory correct, if that means anything.

is the button in the handle or the skin?
Doesn't really matter too much, either way would be very hard to reach from the inside.
It probably is routed over the door and then down to the button. Maybe a little fishing expedition with a coat hanger or small stiff wire hook thru the small button hole?
