EC2000 front hubs

A little more neglect.

The hubs are lubricated with gear lube. There is a window with a rubber plug to service them. This is what came out.

Gross but no grit or metal. The brakes do look like new. I'll flush them out soon.

Cleaned then out, made new gaskets, and filled them with 75w90 synthetic gear lube. I'll run it for a couple hundred miles and swap it out again. Only takes about 8 oz a side.

The cover has a round window to check the level. There is a red rubber cap in the middle to fill the hub.

What are you using to torque the lug nuts? I do not have my manual in front of me, but if I recall correctly torque spec was 400ftlbs.

375 in my book but I use my 200 lb butt standing on the 2 foot mark on a 4 foot breaker bar.

I noticed you had solid hub caps. Everyone I've seen has a open center to check the level and keep them topped off. Click image for larger version

Only 3 of the lug nuts hold the caps on.

Moisture is a bigger problem than miles in our application. Use a plastic tube to suck the fluid as soon as you park after a long run. I use synthetic as claims say it sticks longer in contact points. I do it before I put it up for the winter. It a 10 minute $5 job.
