P32 Front Hubs.

Help!!! Performing front brake job to my 345 and found my left front hub has runout ( .009" worth at the rotor flange ) ....UGH!!! Been checking all around and these hubs are obsolete through GM and finding no after market alternative.

Does anyone know of or have a good set of front hubs or at least one? Know of anywhere to try and find some?? Been down this road??? Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

PS - These are the P32 5/10 lug hubs that have the bolt on brake rotors.

Cheers!

Ted~

Thats a tricky one. I know that the P30 and P32 names were interchangable, however, they had their differences. Have you tried searching for P30 and looked for 'motorhome' in the description? Have you tried RockAuto? I usually have good luck with them when looking for parts for any of my vehicles.

GM parts has it listed as still available. A bit pricey at 335.00 dollars each but still available. As well as all the other brake parts if you want original. Can the rotor be turned at a machine shop or is the rotor too worn? Have you checked Oreily's ? They are much better to deal with than the other 2 big parts stores.

Tedly797,

Michael had this problem a few years ago. He got the last two from some mechanic in Minnesota, from a link from Barthmobile Welcome to Barthmobile.com - Dedicated to the Barth Custom Coach

Thanks mpokop87,

I have been searching with "motorhome" in the description as well. I have had 2 other parts professionals helping in the search and they are comming up empty with just a hub. So far all the brake parts ( calipers, seals, hoeses, master cyliner ) have been 100% correct when received so I have to assume we are giving out the correct chassis application. The 5/10 lug hubs appear to be more rare probably because they are separate from the rotor and not a wear item. It is a tricky one!

Bugtussel,

I did try a local GM/workhorse factory parts supplier and they responded with it being obsolete status. Maybe they had it wrong! Are you able to see a good listing for it somewhere??? I will try a different GM dealer.

Thanks!!!!

Tracy,

Thank you very much for those links, they do look promising! I will start searching there as well

Any luck finding those front hubs? Someone out there must have them!

We have a GM distributor in town here that I can check with to see if they have them. Totally forgot about them until I was in there yesterday for some AC parts

mpokop87,

Sorry for the delayed respone, seeming to have trouble responding to this thread... Says " Reply needs to be more then 3 charaters" and my message disappears! Hmmm..

I did not have any luck finding different or new hubs. I have to admit I did not check any other GM dealers either.
Our local machine shop was able to actually turn the original hub true again by milling .009" from the hub to rotor flange. Not the best way to approach this repair but I didn't have an alternative at this stage. I don't see much of an issue with the integrity of the part since we are only talking .009" from the lowest point being removed from the flange. We will see how it goes and I will update once the 345 is back in action.

***update***
Got the 345 back on the road a few weeks ago and drove over the mountain pass to the coast. I was towing a boat and trying to gingerly bed the all new brake components in. Success!!! No brake pulsation felt and they worked 100% better then the previous linings and rusted rotors it came with. I will say I have never tried to approach a warped hub this way and don't know how long it will stay true, but for now it seems to be working. I threw new bearings and races in all the hubs just because so hopefully we are all set for a long time. I will keep my eye out for a used hub just in case cause I am a parts hoarder ( its a sickness ).

Thanks again for all your ideas!!!

Cheers ~
