Can this a/c condenser be any good?
Ok, I admit I know nothing about a/c condensers. I'm in need of a new condenser for my Argosy MH and after measuring my radiator the absolute max size condenser that will fit is 17" x 30". The Argosy didn't have a condenser when I bought the motorhome so I have nothing to go on. I have someone that is going to measure the existing condenser in their 20' Argosy in the next few days so I will at least know what size to be looking for.
What I'd like to know is whether a condenser this cheap could actually be any good.
A/C condenser
Thanks!
Brad

Brad,
When I click on your link it takes me to my account and asks what I'm looking for.....can't view the condenser.

Wow! I was expecting to have to spend $300 or more to get a decent condenser for the motorhome. Not that I'm complaining mind you
Thanks!

Brad, that is a Parallel flow condensor, and I was told and read that they work far better than the old tube and fin units, which is a great thing!
They carry less head pressure and transfer heat better, which is what you want.
Read this..
ACKITS.com Automotive Air Conditioning Parts & Equipment.: Parallel Flow Condensers - Aluminum
Aside from size, that is exactly the same unit I am planning to use.
I had saved a link to this Full Size Jeep installation, because it had some great info, and pics that helped me see how all the part go on a conversion..

Good info.
Thanks,

Looks like they only have one left. For $69.95 you better jump on it.

Dan, according to the auction it looks like there are still 3 left. Actually from the information I got last night from a fellow 20' Argosy owner (thanks Joseph!) the condenser core itself is actually 16" x 28" (excluding mounting flanges, etc). I think I have room for a 30" core so I may look for a slightly larger one. Since I'm converting from R12 to R134a the larger condenser would be beneficial.
