Overhead hole in console

For my Classic 345 what is supposed to go in the hole between the overhead cabinets above the driver / passenger compartment? The map lights are the only thing in this area now.

Is it for the search light controls? Mine are in the center top. My map lights are on the sides above the side windows.

My flood light controls are on the upper left. The map lights are in the center under the area where the hole is.
