Smile New floor decking is complete!

We started Saturday morning and finished this afternoon. Special thanks to big brother Paul and big sister Janice. We used 3/4" exterior grade plywood from our local lumberyard, Gerretsen's Building Supply and coated the underside and all edges with Thompson's water seal. (We didn't finish the top side because we wanted to be sure the vinyl adhesive would stick firmly.) Next up will be fitting foamboard insulation on the underside. A big milestone reached but still LOTS to do!

Did any of the rain we've had over the last few days (in the PNW) affect you and the floor project? Or, were you able to get the floor project complete before the rains came? We're getting a good shower as I type this - and it all starts over there, west of you!

We beat the rain...but just barely. It has poured off and on the last couple of days. Much needed rain, but it will slow progress on getting all of the riveting done!

Looking like a real trailer again!

We've been busy the last few weeks. Windows are back in place, skylight has been repaired, lots of sealing along seams and around windows. Next up will be wiring and replacing the marker lights and tail lights. Then we can put the interior panels back in place.
It's starting to look like something I can camp in again!

Spring is Here!

Finally getting some warm dry weather, so it's back to work! We un-shrouded her yesterday and Dad has already been hard at work fine-tuning some rivet rumples he wasn't happy with. All smooth and pretty now!

We're tied up with out of town event most of May, but we hope to hit it hard in early June so I can take her out Fourth of July weekend for "roughing it" camping. Fingers crossed!

Lights, camera, action!

We have lights!

Exterior lights are installed! Marker lights and tail lights are ready to go, just waiting for a new license plate light to arrive.

Next up will be snaking new wiring for all the interior light fixtures...the mice made a real mess of the old stuff...

Once that's done we can replace the insulation and lower interior panels, patch the water heater hole, and put a couple of new window screens in so I can take it camping the first weekend in July. It won't have an interior yet, but I can sleep on the bare floor!

After that we'll start reconstructing the interior.

Cool, enjoy the AS in any state that it may be in. I've been to several rallies where some attendees stayed in aluminum tents. Add folding chairs and a card table & you'll have a dinette.

Great job saving that wonderful AS.

Thanks! "Aluminum tent" is exactly what it will be!
