Watching season 11 of M*A*S*H What do I see but this Airstream. What year is it?
This is from episode 12 titled "Say No More"

Oh my goodness!!

I love it!

I am still surprised on occasion when I come across a MASH episode I haven't already seen......I believe this is one of them.

These guys were so, unabashadly, insubordinate and disrespectful, yet had hearts of gold and would always find a way to do what was right. I like that.

Thanks for sharing!

Looks like it was painted khaki/GI green.

From the width of the door, I would guess that it is a Curtis Wright and therefore a late 1940's.

Note: Door may not be as wide as it appears. Hawkeye looks like he has put on some weight, and the tire looks like an oval; so I suspect the 4x3 aspect ratio of the original DVD image has been stretched to 16x9 to fill the display on this widescreen television. If that is correct, the trailer is also a little shorter than it appears.

Looks like a late 40's Wee Wind to me. Definitely not a Curtis Wright because it has an oval front window.

Good observations!

I thought Hawkeye looked a bit hefty, too.

If anyone knows their Airstreams it has to be Colin. So lets say it's a Wee Wind and see if Fred C backs him up.

Mash Airstream

After watching this episode more closely the Airstream trailer used looks like a 1949 Trailwind 18'.

Definitely a 16' Wee Wind, not an 18' Trailwind. Wrong window locations and not long enough, though the TV photo is skewed making it look longer than it really is.

The only question that remains is: "Is it a 1948 or 1949 Wee Wind?" I can't see enough detail under the green paint to tell.

I'm surprised there hasn't been a detailed examination of the TV setup yet. Wonder what those old Jeeps were rated to tow and what kind of WD hitch they used?

Vehicle, utility, 1/4 ton, OD in color. If you've ever ridden in the ones from that era you'd know there's probably nothing it can't tow.... well, maybe an M60 tank or better. Very similar ride to a buckboard.
