I also need help identifying this airstream
A friend of mine passed away recently and his family knew I really like airstreams and gifted me the airstream he was restoring. He has been working on it for 4 years. I can't find the serial number anywhere in the bags of stuff yet. Can any one help me identify this airstream.

Serial Number info
On mine, it is on the name plate that is attached under the window to the right of the door. From the picture, it looks as if the name plate is removed and has left that shiny rectangle that is about 2 inches wide and 14 inches long.
BTW, you got a very nice gift. Now finish it up and have a good time!

My guess would be a mid-late '60s Overlander, 26ft long - probably need to see a photo of the windows on the other side to be sure, but looks quite like this 1967 http://vintageairstream.com/wp-conte...2/05/06_31.jpg

The serial number may also be stamped on the front frame rail near the propane tanks

Is it possible to lookup the Airstream number on the front above window and get some info?

I went there today and found what I was looking for the plate that was removed..
As I can tell its a International 28' Ambassador from cali with the double bed
He labeled everything thankfully because its all in pieces. I think my first step is finish up the frame and then rivet the bottom skin on then new axles wheels insulation then floor, all before I put the top skin back on.
I need a step by step guide. Is there something link that around?

Click in General Repair forum and start reading in the first link that shows up "Stickys link to the major renovations" From the looks of that photo, you are at ground zero. How is the frame? Rusty? Freshly painted? Make sure the frame is good and solid, then put a good subfloor on top of it. That's your next step. After that you can either "flip the frame" to refinish the belly pan, tanks, belly insulation, or you can reattach the shell and move everything if you can't keep workin on it there. Good luck! Looks like an awesome fun project. Lots of work, time, and money. But you will have a classic when you are done! Looks like a '66-'68?

I'd guess a '68 or '69, good years. Should be able to tell from numbers on A frame. Best wishes on getting it back together.
