Wanted 4000 pound dry AS in New Mexico

Would love to have a 27 or 31 foot Airstream but my Yukon just is not powerful enough to tow them through the Rockies. I need to find a 1974 through 198? Airstream that was approximately 4000 pounds coming off the assembly line. The Yukon has a 5.7 with a 3.73 rear end and factory installed towing packages. Thanks for your help. Shelby

Shelby, I have a 2001 Tahoe 4x4 with the factory towing package that I use to tow a 1978 Tradewind, roughly 4000#, according to the Official Listing.

I think your search for a weight is exactly on target, as I wouldn't want to go any larger at all. Get an Equal-i-zer or Reese dual cam hitch, and a Tekonsha Prodigy brake controller, and you're ready to roll!

There was a Tradewind for sale around Las Cruces about 4 months ago, but I can't find my notes - sorry!

Thanks everyone for your consideration. I found my Airstream in Chicago. 1974 Tradewind that has been lovingly cared for. I hope to continue the same care. Looking forward to many surprises over the next hill.
