Re-built seating/beds

I should admit to all here that when I was re-building my Twin and Full bed platforms (due to some water damage caused by leaking windows) I also installed extra support by adding more original oak slides (from a donor trailer)to the top of the base frames. It made the extended bed base much better to handled my body weight and firmed up the seating on both the goucho/couch in the mid ships area and the dinette seats for the twin beds up front. Ed

plywood

please note that vintage plywood (like my 65 caravel) is actually 1/4" thick. modern 1/4" plywood is NOT! you will not be putting that much weight back there and mine has a brace in the middle of the span. I have put a sealer on the wood to hold off moisture damage and it's holding up well.
