Need Door for 1961 Overlander
I'm considering buying an "as is" 1961 Overlander, but some vandals stole the main entry door. Is there anyone parting out an Overlander who would sell me the front door? Is this an almost impossible request? I'm also wondering if a door could be fabricated. Any response would be greatly appreciated

It's going to be pretty difficult to find one for sale - "an almost impossible request" is probably pretty accurate.
I think it could be built from scratch.
You'd need a donor door of sorts to use as a template.
You can buy the hinges from VTS.
If someone were planning to rebuild their early 60's door then they'd be the person to contact to see about making a duplicate along the way.
Good Luck.

it's a tough decision
Here's what's got me trying to find options:
Pros: Getting a great 61 Overlander with a great body and mostly intact interior for $500
Cons: NO FRONT DOOR.. Lol..
Can't decide what to do.

$500 is a pretty great deal.
There are restorer/repair guys that frequent this forum that might build that door for a price that overall still makes the deal great.

A original door can be made, but, the trailer must be available in order to do so, as the door would be built to fit your Airstream.
The old doors were not made in very much of a jig.
Some of the original door channel is still available.

Thanks Rivet Master
I called Inland RV today, and someone told me it wasn't something you had available. I'm so glad you wrote to me! So, "door channel" is the part that wraps the door?
If I can get that piece, I could likely find someone in my town who could fabricate the door. I'm afraid to ask what something like that would cost, though.

Thanks
Well, looks like they don't want to sell the Airstream. Go figure. Thanks to all who tried to help me.

Hi. It looks like the deal is back on again. I'm hoping you still have that door.
