iguana

we found this really cool picnic table amongst the mangrove. we're sitting there enjoying the view, and realize we're surrounded by these giant lizards. they're one of three different iguana, pets brought from central and south america, and now the iguana population in south florida is out of control.

some of them grow as long as seven feet! they are docile, but i'm reading that when cornered they will bite, scratch, and whip their spiny tails. nice.

the view out my window this morning. gorgeous! let's go meet some of the locals... woodpecker, iguana (this one is young, more about these giant lizards later, the "free range" chickens, and of course, the cutest as could be key deer.
