Time to renew insurance - HELP!

We just shopped around with our broker and on the web. AIG PCG (currently house and cars) wanted $1,500 for a 2016 23D Serenity. Progressive (Harley's) wanted $500. What a shock, now AIG is stated value, whatever I claim. Since I have about 10K in aftermarket stuff I need to request like kind coverage from Progressive. Should be $150 additional, so a 50% reduction and if I go with that AIG still covers all with an Umbrella policy. So to say the least a tangled web, blind item pricing from my broker, I would have expected fair rating as my commercial coverage is $150K with him yearly. Try Progressive... Best G

The most important factor is total loss valuation. In other words, if deemed a loss, how will they value the trailer? Almost all of the companies use NADA. Yes, initially you go by stated value to determine cost of insurance but...
With a new trailer you have options.
The first five years you can get replacement cost insurance.
Next down on the tier is agreed value policy
last is NADA value policy
Agreed value policy does not depreciate the value of the trailer as long as you pay the premium.
My recommendation is to check with FCIS. They know Airstreams. The policy is an Allied policy (Agreed policies) but they may have others.Posted 01-17-2016 at 08:45 PM by rodsterinfl
