1950 Liner "Weeble" - A little progress on small items

So we made a little progress this weekend on some small items. I started this weekend stripping the paint and polishing one of the 3 overhead cabinet. We plan to re-use all 3.

1950 Liner "Weeble" - Gutted and cleaned, straightening banana wrap pieces

We spent the weekend just seeing what we had in more detail. We gutted the inside, saving the pieces not rotted, hauling the springs from the mattresses, hot water tank, etc. to the dump. We pulled on window out to get pictures of the 'w' piece for the hinge and the 'u' channel. We also pulled off one interior window trim and vent trim.

Liner photos once home

Here are some photos of the Liner once we got home. Outside photos only at this point. The inside isn't much. Floor is mostly gone, springs for bed in back and couch in front but no material left. The drawer cabinet is there but warped some from water damage. We will probably just re-use the drawer pulls on that. One gem is it has the aluminum (or stainless steel?) kitchen cabinet with sink and stovetop.

We now have a name for her. She will be known as Weeble. Her shell wobbles...

Just bought a 1950 Liner... And number 2. Are we crazy?

Last Friday, I made the 2 hour trip to Nelson County VA where I grew up to visit my parents. I thought I might drop by and visit Dave at Trailer Buff since it is only 5 minutes up the road. Found out Dave is retired from the Airstream restoration business but he did have 3 Airstreams, unrestored he was selling. I took a few pictures and headed home.

Second Camping Season

Since our Airstream was a ways from home over the winter season, we didn't get to see how it was until this month (Aug 10-Apr 11). I was worried about posible leaks over the winter.

Everything was in excellent condition and even smelled good inside even though it had been closed up for that long.

We had only one small leak in the front window which was probably from the old seal there. They need to be replaced. It was a minimal leak and just wetted the edge of...
