Slick Rock Campground in Moab…a pretty cool place. For an extra $5 a camper can stay past the 11:00 checkout, leaving time for late risers like us to go explore Arches National Park without draggin’ along the ‘Stream.
Arches, wow, whadda place. The entrance is kinda steep but we avoided looking ‘down’ for the short, steep incline. We only could spare a few hours so we hit the biggies. Since we tow with a Dodge “Ram”, here’s a snapshot of the Rams head…

There’s still time to loop thru Arches, Moab, Monument Valley and still make it back to Mississippi by Labor Day, gotta go to work after that…
So we exit Jackson on Hwy 191 and head toward the day’s goal of Vernal UT....

The next stop was Willow Overlook were we saw a couple of dozen Elk feeding in the grass flats. Then onto Jenny Lake for some snap shots as the low clouds blew past the peaks. We decided that tomorrow would be a good day to hike...
