This was a recommendation from a fellow forums member and he was right. At first glance, the park seems daunting because it's also a community park with a day use area. But, the campground section is quite separate, secluded, and wonderful. The hookups are water and electric. There is a convenient dump station on the way out. We had 4G cell service (Verizon) and about 25 TV channels over the air. The campground is south of the river from New Orleans (west bank) so there is a bit of effort to get into the city as you must choose one of two bridges or a ferry. For those traveling long term, there are two bath houses on site and BOTH have FREE laundry facilities! For those with young kids, there are also two newer playgrounds in front of each bath house.

Nice bathhouse. Playground area for the kids. State Park.

We enjoyed our stay here. We will stay again if we are in the area.

Pros:
Proximity to French Quarter, either by driving, or the Canal Street ferry from Algiers Point.
Cons:
Few sites shade; tricky to navigate to the after-hours entrance after dark
Stayed here 3 nights in April 2022 during the annual French Quarter Fest. Nice park for visiting NOLA. Took ferry from Algiers Point to Canal Street terminal; used the public parking near the ferry dock. Enjoyed the fresh seafood from the Westwego Shrimp lot nearby.
