Description: This campground has an incredible location just as you enter Mount Desert Island where Acadia NP is located. If you're planning a visit to Acadia, I highly recommend staying here, baring you can get a waterfront site. If I remember correctly there were quite a few sites that were just in an open grass area, which didn't appeal to us. However there are also some amazing sites available that are on the water. We stayed there in 2003 prior to having our Airstream, and we camped in a small 17' SOB camper and got a prime site right on the water. At high tide our camper and picnic table were <20' from the water. Unfortunately I can't recall the site# that we had, but I'm pretty sure we had full hookups despite being on the water. Hands down the best campsite we've ever had.

Pros: On the water, nice people
Cons: Expensive in season, sites very close.

Near Bar Harbor, some sites right on the water, if not on water the water is visible from a number of locations. Clean, clean restrooms, we had our AS, 30' backed into a site no problem, on unit off the water which was listed as on the water. Good Sat coverage, poor wifi where we were, too far from office. Water site in 2013 was over $100.00 per night in season.
