This campground is a great one. When considering somewhere to stay in the Richmond area, it should be one everyone's consideration list. The sites are very wooded and well spaced out. Most are paved or at least tar&chip. There's some pull-throughs, but most are back-in. Each site has a picnic table and fire ring in a landscape timber-lined, gravel filled area. Your neighbors are comfortably spaced away from you. There's a great new playground. Laundry facilities are available in virtually every shower house. There's walking and biking trails all over. There's a huge pool and splash area. The pool is open to the public and very separated from the campground. From the looks of the parking lot and picnic areas, the pool is a popular summer place to be (we were there in April before the pool was open). Camping spots are numerous but when you show up and pay, it's for "a site". This means there's no site number reservation. You just go in and find an open one that you like. This isn't a bad deal for when we were there as we were able to use one of the pull-throughs right next to the playground. In busier times I can imagine that these spots are taken quickly.
