Description: See the pictures on their website.

A great place to camp. Nestled in the trees just off Deception Pass. Wonderful place to camp (quiet), biking, fishing, ocean views and swimming, boating, can get foggy at times (we like that)

Pros: State run so clean, efficient, large, ocean views/swimming, biking and hiking, towns nearby
Cons: Very busy in regular season, be sure to reserve

We really enjoy this campground. It's clean, State run, quiet and nice sized camp sites, washrooms have showers and are clean.

Views of the ocean, beaches, you can swim in it, boating and fishing at hand. Nestled in the trees along the coast, one of the San Juan Islands with easy access. North of Seattle 90 minutes so fills up fast with weekend escapees. A fun place for the kids.

There's Whidby Island Naval Air Force base nearby so for those who love to watch the jets zoom past (sometimes loudly but mostly way up) it's a great place to sit on the beach and enjoy.

Pros: close to Seattle, great views, beaches, etc. Has electric at many sites
Cons: Can get a little rowdy on holiday weekends, but varies by loop

Great state park, one of many in WA. As someone else noted, this is near seattle, so will fill on summer weekends. The west facing beach is AWESOME at sunset and has BBQ areas on the beach.
