Description: Penn Wood is an Airstream only park located 5 miles south of I80 on Pa route 66. The park is operated and maintained by the campground members. I can tell you from experience that the park is beautiful, and a great stop for the night or for a season. Please check out the website for more info.

Pros: Seclusion, proximity to Allegheny National Forest, They take SOBs as long as they are traveling with or hosted by an Airstream owner, and the friendly people
Cons: I can't get there more than I would like to :)

We had tried to get to Penn Wood in 2006, but could not due to scheduling onflicts. We made an early trip there in 2007 and have been back numerous times this year. We loved it so much that we cancelled some other trips and went to Penn Wood instead. We also love the place and the people so much that we are going to lease a site for the 2008 season and beyond. It is such an improvement over commercial campgrounds and you can't beat a small Airstream community and their friendly people. The leases are very affordable and you cant beat the nightly rates They have had a spurt of new leases since we put a deposit on ours so it looks like the word is out about Penn Wood. They have all the ammenities one would need; full water, electric, and sewer hook ups, digital cable, wireless Internet, a club house with a full restaurant kitchen, bar-b-q pit, a fishing pond, a brook running through the campground, hiking trail, shower facilities, and washer and dryers. We are also installing a children's playground / activity center this year.

Stop in and check out the beautiful surroundings, the friendly people, and I gaurantee you won't want to leave.

Pros: Great setting and friendly folks
Cons:

We stayed a week at Penn Wood in August 2009. Our first experience with an Airstream only park and we didn't know what to expect.

Could not have had a better experience, a warm welcome by hosts Dave & Lori, lots of other great folks, and a "state park like" setting.

We'll be back for sure!

Pros: More things to do than time to do them.
Cons:

Love the people, places, and things surrounding Pennwood. Lots to see and do during the day, and a friendly campfire or happy hour to be found almost every night when we got back.

Pros: Beautiful people in a beautiful setting
Cons:

We were fortunate to get the opportunity to spend a day at Penn Woods on our way to the Mothership last week (end of August). The folks were friendly and helpful, and welcoming. Wonderful happy hour custom that gave us the opportunity to meet fellow Airstreamers, as we are relatively new.

Pros: playground, full hook-ups, wifi, cable, easy access from I-80
Cons: it's a 3.5 hour drive from my house!

We've been there twice now, both times for the Fall Colors Airforums Rally. Both times it has been top notch. I really wish it was closer, we'd visit more often.

Pros: Great People, Great Atmosphere, Great Area, Easy in and I imagine Easy to get out
Cons: None that I have found yet

Penn Wood is a peaceful haven for the weary Airstream traveler. It is a great place to relax and enjoy the mountain scenery and get in touch with nature. After being here one week I can honestly say I have found my new home away from home.

Pros: Friendly folks, beautiful setting, relaxed atmosphere
Cons: NA

Just got back from our first trip to Penn Woods. The facilities are quite nice and the location near old growth forests is fantastic. We will definitely come back again. We really enjoyed happy hour too.

Pros: Beautiful Campground, WIFI, TV Cable, Full Hookup Quite.
Cons: Poor Cell Reception

I had the opportunity to stay here a few days over the 4th of July and it was great place to stay very relaxed. Kinda in the middle of no where so no a whole lot to do near by. Otherwise you are always surrounded by lots of Aluminum. Great place to stay.
