Pros: clean and well maintained, family oriented, great sense of community among campers
Cons: sites are close, not much privacy, older facilities, needs dumpstation work

We have stayed here in the past and in 2007.Very clean and well maintained. The manager and rangers are helpful and responsive to customers. Many events at the local fort and campground.Water and electric hookups with primitive sites for tents near the river. The state of Kentucky is going to invest more in upgrading bathhouses and restrooms at campgrounds and has made most parks reservable on reserveamerica.com.Small campstore on site, better to buy your supplies before hand. The Fort is fun and reenactors were there to make it more interesting.River museum nearby with locks. Two great giftshops in the Fort itself. The waterpark is small but good for kids.A couple of fun hiking trails. Not super scenic there is a cement plant and road nearby.Very friendly though a bit crowded. This park has great potential if they could expand the campsites more into the adjacent overflow area and upgrade the facilities maybe plant a few trees.Nevertheless it is a good campground for kids and history buffs we will come again.
