Pros: Clean, new shower facilities, great location
Cons: Only a two mile nature trail, need reservations to get in

This is a great campground located on a point out into Lake Huron. It isvery clean, with many ranger programs: for bird watchers--scarlet tanger is big here, for kids, for folks ready for a nice nature walk. If you like to bicycle, there is a great paved bike lane to Tawas.Swimming and fishing are super. You can choose between the warm protected bayside or the lovely, sandy Huron side. Two brand new playgrounds keep kids happy. The walk to the lighthouse is short from the campground, kids and adults were riding bikes and rollerblading.Lots of trees along the perimeter. If you have a dog, there are many good places to walk them, and the campsites are well described on the reservation website shady spots were appreciated by our dog.I would have liked more nature trails but we were busy kayaking and walking this time.We should have brought the bikes.A good balance of families and kid free campers. The park has enforced quiet hours and is very clean and well maintained. Many places in Tawas to refuel, grocery stores, etc.A stocked fishing pond was fun for the kids.
