The Interior Solution, new tank, pump and spaghetti of hoses.
|
Description |
The Red lever on the far left empties the pressurized side of the water line to a drain manifold.
The Middle lever (hard to see) drains the tank into the same manifold. The red valve in the upper left bypasses the pump to fill the tank when connected to city water. I felt this was necissary since the limited choices for locating the gravity fill made it mostly ornamental. All of this gets covered up by the caucho and removable caucho arm rests. |

The previos owner was kind enoug to have drilled a 3/4" hole in the fridge hatch for a HAM antenna jack, which was a convenient place to put a vent. |

The Exterior Solution
|
Description |
New chromed regulated city inlet and a backing plate maintain the shape and look of the old filler tube, and covers the old holes. Er... time to wash the trailer I suppose. |

The Solution.
|
Description |
Moving the gaucho frame back 4 inches made room for a 25 gallon tank, which is a 15 gallon upgrade from the previos tank. Also allows for a twin futon matress to fit on the gaucho. |

The Problem.
|
Description |
Eventually the thank developed a crack around one of the ports and could not be repaired. Since it was a central part of both the city and on-board water system, it scuttled the '08 camp season and left a big hole where the filler tube was. |

1963 Pressurized Water Tank.
|
Description |
The old pressurized system was a wonderfull set up that will be sorely missed. It was mostly quiet, simple, required only 1 hole in the skin, and could be repressurized with a bicycle pump if the battery gave out.
Note the shipping labels on both ends for the Cayo Bros plant in Benton Harbor Michigan. |
