Blue List of roadside help

After my recent experiences and some conversations with other owners(GMC Brand to name one) I am offering to perform a free service.

Any member that wants to volunteer to be on a "Blue List " of road side help needs to PM with what you can help with, contact info, including phone number and address. I will compile this list off the forum, so the info will not be publicly available. If you want it e mailed to you you need to be a member and ask for it.

How is that for a recruiting tool!

I envision it like the courtsey parking, you can be a local refferal for service or can go get dirty helping out. It is up to the individual.

I was lucky enough that the forum came back up in time that FrankR was one such savior. I have some of the info, but much was lost in the crash.

You may never need or use it, but it sure would be a security blanket that you can take with you on the road.

Since we have many new members I thought I would bring this up again and see if this is of interest.

IMHO it goes hand in hand with another thread discussing repair shops.

If you have additional info like spot to park, or a distance you are willing to travel to help thats great too.

This is not something that will help you get fixed for free, but a way to have a friend almost anywhere that can help, and in many cases point you in the right direction to get fixed and back on the road. If your new friend "wants" to get greasy and help you fix it thats a bonus.

i'll be glad to help out stranded/disabled people near madison wisconsin.

there are many great repair places here and a chevy dealer that sells parts until 8 pm week nights.

Brett- this is a wonderful "first response" idea and I will e-mail you to be added. I have one thought tho... what if the person/s listed in a particular area/place -where you are having the trouble- are not available (out of town, running errands, etc). I am trying to create a spreadsheet to keep on the road that has HIGHLY RECOMMENDED repair facilities in different areas. I created a thread called "Member Recommended Repair Facilities" and would love for any/all of you who know of that kind of place in your area to add it to the thread. That way the info will be all in one place for easy reference and after I have completed my spreadsheet, I might be able to provide to others to carry also. What do you say fellow travelers..... Thanks for all of your hard work in putting this list together. Got our copy. Will print it out and tuck it in with the emergency kit and maps. Looks great!

Just wanting to revive this thread. We have so many new members and now that some of you are home you might want to consider being a part of this. We have 16 members, add your name if you can help. Nothing like having a friend in a "strange" town/state

Time for the quarterly update! Lots of new members in the last 3 months so I think it may be time to begin an update. Who wants to be added as a resource, who wants a copy emailed to them. I will not post it since it has a tone of individual contact information that I for one would not want posted in the public forums.
