1966 Airstream Overlander 26 - British Columbia

Up for sale is a 1966 26 foot Overlander Twin tip to rear bumper length that has been extensively rehabilitated. Hundreds of hours of work have been put into her since that time and she is ready for sale. This includes;

1 Resealed roof and replaced vent covers etc. with new replicas where needed. Much of the exterior side s front and back resealed. Most sealing has been done with Vulcum, Sikaflex, Parabond or Trem Pro.

2 Most of the interior floor area 1 foot or more from wall in has been coated with fiberglass resin to protect it. Allure floor covering and underlay was added last June.

3 Rear aluminum pulled and new aluminum sheeting applied. Rear tank has new supports, insulation and tank cover. Frame etc. at rear has been treated and painted.

4 New rear drop down aluminum door beneath bumper is period correct.

5 Exterior lights have been replaced as needed with replicas or originals. Running lights are all new.

6 Exterior windows have new seals and have been extensively worked on. All windows have new rain gutters as well. All side windows are original curved glass. Front and rear are new clear lexan for the front given its strength, smoked plexi for the rear Screens have been replaced where needed.

7 Converter replaced with a Parallax and new 30 amp connection etc. Wiring is copper throughout the trailer.

8 Interior electrics replaced or repaired where needed.

9 All new water lines pex and replaced water tank, faucets etc. Hot water tank pulled and replaced.

10 Kitchen appliances, heater etc. have all been reworked and/or replaced.

11 Interior woodwork has been painfully refinished where needed including a new custom 3 piece Russian oak front panel above the couch.

12 All interior latches etc. have been removed and polished where needed.

13 Front wiring harness replaced, electric tongue jack added.

14 Front gas regulator reworked along with gas lines. New 20 pound tanks for easy change out.

15 Standing wooden tv trays were purchased rather than putting in a table. I do have a folding table if the buyer wants it.

16 Wheels have been replaced with aluminum Airstream wheels, center caps and rear bumper painted in corvette red. Bearings and brakes have been serviced and replaced where needed. Tires are in good shape, a few years old but not cracked and have been covered since new.

17 And much much more!!!!

The exterior aluminum is in good shape but does have a few imperfections as one would expect for a 55 year old trailer. This trailer has not been polished as many owners would prefer these trailers maintain their original patina. This trailer is about a foot narrower than a new one and is, as a result, much easier to see around when towing. The dry weight of this trailer is only 4200lbs. with a 400 lb. tongue weight. A hitch and sway bar will be needed with a 2 inch hitch ball. The hot water tank, stove top original and oven original are all a manual light; however the fridge 2 way and furnace have electric igniters. The trailer does have air conditioning with a heat strip. This is a true vintage time capsule that will attract considerable attention where ever you go. Original to this Airstream is the triple burner cooktop, a wooden bathroom bifold door, a unique solid bath/shower door, dual screw roof vents with fans, adjustable twin beds as well as other interesting features. Original Wally Byam hooks are found throughout the trailer as are bins and slide out drawers. Unfortunately the pictures do not do this trailer justice. The interior woodwork of this trailer is simply beautiful and clearly represents a time when craftsmanship was paramount. The great thing about vintage airstreams is that they will continue to appreciate in value. This is an investment that you can enjoy! The Airstream is located at my home in South Surrey Vancouver area British Columbia. 47,000 Cdn. or 37,600 U.S.
