Best tow vehicle hands down - Texas

I have owned 3 late model airstream s from 23 28ft and always towed with diesels. Dodge 2500, Ford F250 and this low mileage 2005 Ford Excursion Limited which is built on the F250 chassis with only 80K original miles on 6.0 diesel.

Having the interior club seating for 4, a bench seat aft for 3 and 3ft deep aft storage compartment convertible to 8ft, as big as a long bed pickup with seats folded down. Full leather, back up camera, Audio, video...Michelins, full Ford dealer mx history. dual heat and AC with a tow capacity you will never exceed.

Sold my Airstream.

You might want to include a couple of details in your ad... Like year? Engine?

It's a good thing you found one you really like. To my knowledge they have stopped making them.

Whoops! I thought you had found one, I didn't realize you wanted to sell it. Sorry. They are good vehicles. My son-in-law towed his 30' with his Excursion. Always did a great job.

The modern version of that Excursion is the one ton Suburban diesel.
Unfortunately they are custom built and cost about $125k, which was last year, probably more now. Sure wish GM would produce a production model then we could light up this forum even more with "my tow vehicle is better than yours".
Whatever you are towing with, as long as you get there and home safely, all is good!!

Have you had that 6.0 bulletproofed? The Ford 6.0 and 6.4 diesels (Navistar) are known to be troublesome. Significant issues like Head bolts being insufficient among other things. Sorry to have to say that but it’s true. That’s why Ford stopped working with Navistar and designed the current 6.7 in house.

Check out the Ford forums as well as powerstrokehelp.com. They’re on YouTube as well.
