Help with buying and shipping to UK

Hi

I am looking for a Airstream motor home (not trailor) to ship back to London. It has been my dream since being a child to travel around Europe in one. So I hope to do that at some point next year with my dog

Any help on where I would buy one and get it shipped would be fantastic..

welcome to the forums and the world of airstreaming! You might want to check RV Trader online there 160 Class A for sale from the 1970´s upto 2006 Modells. We shipped our TT with ATI USA Inc. and they had a really good deal for us. You can also call Daniel from Airstream4u in Hamburg, he has very good connection to Airstreamers in the US and might help you. He has one MH for sale at the moment, but can shurely guide you to more...

Many thanks for the information.. After thinking in great detail about the plan there is also another option. To buy the Airstream in America and then travel in America thus avoiding shipping and size restrictions. It would still be travelling and in an Airstream

If I was travelling for 3-6 months in America would it be best to buy or rent a Airstream? Either in Europe or America I am determined to live my dream

The Summer 2005 Airstream Life, in an article on future Airstream offerings, says, "The company has also announced a new venture, called "Airstream Europe" which will soon produce a lighter model specifically designed for the European market. Look for more information and photos of these new models in future issues of Airstream Life." Context suggests this probably would be trailers.

Announcing a venture and producing a product (manufacture in Europe?) may take a while...! Maybe they'll trend back toward the 7'6" (2.29 meter) wide trailers like the Minuet. Then there will be a group of ASForums members asking you how to import those back to the States!

As there will be few tow vehicles in the UK with a GVW greater than 7700 pounds, a UK model Airstream would probably need to be maximum 7 ft 6 inches wide and less than 26 feet long, including the A-frame.

you might have to look into quarantine regulations......i had an as*hole banker cousin that moved to london for several years.. he put down a beautiful lab, rather then keep it in quarantine. i dont know if the same is true for coming to the u.s.

Many thanks for all the advice. The decision now rests on how easy it will be to take Mouse (my dog) to America. If it looks to difficult we will travel around Europe thanks speedytincan for your website link it may be the just thing we are looking for if we decide to stay in Europe
