Made it to Reno, but there are both a big bowling championship and the Reno Rodeo going, so no free room at the El Dorado. So I found a free wireless cafe here in town (they have it in the hotel we're staying in, Circus Circus but I don't gamble and can't stay in that room a minute longer today) so I'm here checking in. We're headed to a regional park after this for some quiet time and then we're REALLY on the road tomorrow...I'll take pictures. Wow, Wisconsin is still so far away!!

We know that the destination is tops in your mind on this trip, but enjoy the trip too, especially that trip home in your long-anticipated Airstream

Ugh, yeah, I'm trying to enjoy it, but my husband is pretty burned out from work and isn't talking much. Wish me patience and a little bit of detachment while he goes through this...we're in Salt Lake City today, on to Cheyenne. Thanks everybody, keep posting...I get homesick and this keeps me connected. It'll be OK. Funny I thought I'd be the impossible one. Maybe I am?

Hopefully, he'll unwind on those high open plains. The big skies and long vistas of Wyoming and Montana do that for us each time we go! Be sure to notice the Snowy Range peaks before you get to Laramie. Maybe sometime you'll be able to take that scenic byway Meanwhile, just keep singing to yourself as the miles roll along, "Going to get my Airstream, Going to get my Airstream. . .!

You are right, it's happening. But we can't do the northern route...maybe when we have the trailer ready. We are shooting straight to Des Moines and turning left.
By the way: airstream sighting count: 7!!
Keep the posts up...I'm checkin'....

We made it to Omaha Nebraska tonight. Could potentially be touching the trailer within the next two days!

We did, and I'm also at one right now! Thanks norb'! We're at the
Rock Bottom Pub and Brewery in Des Moines, Iowa right now (free wireless). We got the trailer, the seller was great, let me borrow his mountain bike to do the Sparta Elroy trail, 30 something miles. Hung out in Hillsboro, bought chocolate cheese among other types today to bring home and compare...who's cows are happier? and went to a place in New Salem to get tow and hitch and weight distribution and sway and coffee and go pee, and all that. Now I'm ready to sign off and go to the Motel 6 to sleep...I'm happy...I have my airstream and no one can take it from me.
And yes...hubby lightened up. Not all the way, but...up.
More to come....! I'm an airstream owner, and not just virtually!

Ingrid,
You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so happy you finally have you airstream, and your hubby is starting to lighten up.
Have a safe and wonderful trip home.
Don't do like I did on the way home with the Argosy----
I kept looking back to make sure it was still there, but, then we all do that!!!!!!!!
Marie

The pictures are nice enough. They deliver a very positive message. Have a safe and fun trip. The real work begins when you get home. Congratulations fellow Alnuminaut.
