Wheel to slider process

The photos are there now. If I remember right, I drilled the old rivited roller assembly out. They were overly complex and the rubber wheels were failure bound from age. Too many parts to break or...

Photos of Delrin sliders

I cut one long one to size on my table saw, then sliced it in half to have two. I used my router to recess the bolts.
Slick!

Better solution!

Yes, I did figure a better way to solve the overly complex and unobtainable parts! I tried finding wheels first, then spoke to a genius fabricator that I know. He suggested skipping the wheels and...

My impression was that they stopped regular production of the classic motorhomes in 1984, but you could still custom order them until something like 1989.

I saw a sign at a service center for RVs that said:

"If you think you don't have a leak, you just haven't found it yet."

In Western Washington, we know a bit about rain and mildew. Most...

RM100 in New York

Yep, but it is as old as mine and across the whole country from me. Shipping costs would be high and jostling could damage it's aging parts. I would rather not risk the hassle of installation and...

Thank you

I have heard of 'burping' the refrigerant like you talk about, but in this case it did not work.

Those who do not have to write the check all suggest going new!

1979 Dometic RM100 dead

The cooling unit seems to be dead and nobody will repair or offer a replacement unit due to it's age. Replacements are not quite the right size (shorter or taller) and people complain about the 12V...

Removing the lenses

Be very careful! The shorter ones are harder to remove since they flex less. To take these pictures, I slightly damaged one corner. I am not sure if replacements are available.

I flexed them...

Superbrite LED strips

I will take some photos for you.
Unlike the easy, but expensive bulb-end fitting that most of these pictures show, Superbrite also sells LEDs by the roll with a peel and stick backing that I did...

1979 24' Excella VIN

Mine is CPS3793309886.
I can barely make out some faded remnants of large numbers over the back window, so some PO must have belonged to Wally's club, right?

Imron

Any auto paint supply place can sell it to you. It is a two part paint like an epoxy. Motorcycles like it because it does not care about gas spills. Expensive, but tough.

Thumbs up Superbrite LEDs

They sell strips of lights that can be cut into threes with a resistor built in. Slick! Get your solder gun going and replace all the interior lights first to reduce your draw for dry camping. ...

Heater fan motor

I have a 1979 Airstream 24 foot Excella motor home with a worn out heater/defroster motor. This was not a GM P30 chassis heater, but an AS setup, so finding a replacement is a challenge. Any ideas?

I gave up trying to make or find wheels for the tracks. I bought a chunk of Delrin plastic (acetal) and, with my table saw and router, I machined some solid runners instead. They are nice and tight...
