That outlet should not be there. Someone buggered things up installing it there, were it me, I'd make a patch, then relocate the outlet to the curbside of the trailer right above the battery door.

cut back to halfway over the outrigger on either side, or if necessary cut back to the frame member. Get some heavy screws and washers, or Airstream flooring bolts (cant remember their name offhand)...
