Make sure your negative battery cable is not full of corrosion.... run a new ground to test with such as a jumper cable on negative (-battery) to chassis.

The "Sticky" is the adhesive used in the vinyl that covers the interior skin. It doesnt seem to be airborne. In my unit the sticky is only on the interior skin and nowhere else.

The fridge was on propane operation at the time. The cause of the Fire was either a Propane Leak or a Coolant (Ammonia) Leak.
If your Fridge Coils are heavily rusted I would run it on...
