This happens all the time. Normal aim shoots down the hall turning both tv's on. I found that if i aim the remote towards the wall instead of the tv the signal just goes to the tv in that room.

BTW, there is a screw to take it apart. It's just hidden under a little rubber plug on the handle. Pop the plug with a sharp knife and you have access.
