Break Control

What is the best the break control system? I think I read in this forum that Prodigy is really good.

Thanks!

Matter of opinion

You will get a lot of different answers, but I don't think you can go wrong with the Prodigy. I have towed 3 very different trailers with mine with absolute satisfaction. The Prodigy is about the easiest to install and requires only that the maximum effort be adjusted; no levelling is required.

Had a Prodigy on previous SOB and on the AS. Probably was a setup issue, but never could get it right - it was too aggressive or not aggressive enough. Replaced it with the MasterBrake unit, which works flawlessly. The Jordan seems to be also highly regarded.

I went with the MasterBrake BrakeSmart controller. It was an extremely easy and clean install. Works great.

Had the MasterBrake been available when we bought our rig, that's the route we would've gone. At the time, the best available was the Jordan. I know what the rig is doing and want to control the trailer brakes myself, not have a black box do it based on what it thinks the tow vehicle is doing. The Jordan does require connecting a cable to the dash and brake pedal arm. If you can replace a brake cable on a bicycle, you can do that.

I vote for the Jordan....

For the same reasons RoadKingMoe pointed out above.

Truthfully, there have been good reports from all three brands previously mentioned.

Agreed. All 3 have their loyal customers ... had the BrakeSmart not been available ... I would have opted for the Jordan ... and felt just fine about it.
