Bit the bullet and ordered the new windows!
2 Attachment(s)
Placed the giant order with Inland yesterday and will spend the next few days preping and getting duct tape and nasty old caulking off! We are thinking of replacing the missing latches, they look like this: Attachment 156657with one of these Attachment 156658: I know we'll have to notch out the screens and possibly a little of the window frame, but its the best we've been able to come up with. The new latches are commercial food grade and won't rust, etc. Any input would be appreciated before we do this! Thanks so much!

I'm interested in hearing how your window replacement turned out. We're you pleased with inland? Did you do the installation yourself? I'm in Ruston,La and have a1966 safari that needs both front and rear windows replaced. Yikes! Any information you can share would be appreciated.

Hi Tecie, I'm a Tech Alumni! Inland was so wonderful - very helpful and knowledgeable. I spoke with them at least twice gathering info before I placed the one big order. The package arrived days later. The window replacement has not happened yet. We have some stationary windows that need to be replaced. We have an auto-window guy who will do that for us. He'll also cut a new piece of plexi and turn the front window into a stationary plexi window. Then we can move the two original latches from that window and we won't have to figure out replacement latches for the rest. We also won't have to worry about breaking the front glass or having a rock guard. I want him to do his thing before I tackle the rest, so there we sit.... I'm guessing your 66 is the same as our 67. That means its a flat piece of glass which I think means you can have just about anyone cut it for you. We ordered the curved side glass from Inland. Maybe by next summer we can have our own rally at Claiborne!
