Source for C channel?

Just released the shell of a 1963 Bambi. My current focus is checking the frame and replacing the axel, but looking ahead to re-mating the shell to the new floor.

I can fiddle around to see if I can bend the short "legs" of the C, and I can check around locally for a fab shop with a bake bender, but wondering if there is somebody that produces and mails strips of C channel? Can strips be nested to make this practical without distorting the channel?

I bought some that worked for me through Mcmaster-carr but looking in their online current listing I don't believe they carry it any more, The legs were 1/16 thick which gave more strength than the original. Try Brunner Enterprises. They have a # C21226 that looks like it might work. Its 1/16 thick and 1.5" inner diameter with 3/4 legs. The external diameter is 1 5/8 so a little wider than original (maybe by a 1/16th) Of course this only is the straight sections if you need the curves you'll have to fabricate them obviously. As for nesting the junctions I believe I used some flat aluminum 1.5 in across to sister them. Hope this might help. Ed

Thanks for the leads.

My comment on nesting, was just for purposes of shipping economically.

I may just sandwich the material between some plywood, and try bending up a bunch of my own.
