25FB Flying Cloud

You never know how some things will work out. As I noted yesterday we were just about ready to pull the trigger on a 2011 23FB Flying Cloud. As we made one last look we found a 2012 25FB Flying Cloud located at a dealership in Michigan for about the same price. Long story short, we are going for the 25ft. Any thoughts about trailering differences, comfort differences etc. Is there really that much difference in only two ft. We may have to get an equalizing hitch for the tongue weight. Anyone know of a good transport service from Michigan to WA state? Our TV will be a Chevy Trailblazer.

The 25' is not only longer, it's wider, has larger tanks, bigger brakes, bigger tires, more seating, and more open. You will love it. If you consider tow vehicle, trailer, people, gear and supplies as a total weight, the 25' is not much difference from the 23'. The 2012 models have some nice upgrades.

I am unfamiliar with the Trailblazer and whether it is enough for either trailer. You made a good choice on the trailer. Get some professional help setting up your tow vehicle, if determined adequate.

Congratulations!
I don't think you will notice the trailering difference much, despite the 6" wider body. Nor do I think you will regret your decision; both are great, but the feature that put us in 25F B (and ultimately 27FB) was the dinette and lounge seating at the rear, and the potential views you can get when parked...

Enjoy the journey,
Steve

The 23' FB has a very bad dinette location over the wheel well. This limits seating to two people only. Good move with the 25'.

Towability? Not much difference between the two Airstreams. Either might tax a Trailblazer. That may need more analysis. But you'll have either Airstream much longer than the tow vehicle. Better to get the trailer you want/need rather than eat depreciation twice.

Exactly! I think you're right on the edge of not enough TV, but you can get by for awhile. I definitely believe in getting the RIGHT AS and sorting out the TV when you figure out what your lifestyle will be while out on the road.

Funny how these things work out.
