Airstream rear bumper hitch

Everyone says not to hang anything off the rear bumper.

What about three more Airstreams??

That is how AS made longer models!

OMG, is that a Corolla pulling a 34' slide? Can Am was really around back then?

:) Hi, a 1953 Mercury with a 255 cubic inch Flathead V-8, what a tow vehicle. :D I used to have one of those, but I didn't have the two optional hood ornaments.

Personally, I liked the hood ornaments.

1953 Merc was my 1st car around 1959. I was a "California Custom" lowered and full fender skirts. T he red and black rolled and pleated genuine Naugahide was cool enough to get me my own hood ornaments. Sal.

anyone know what hitch would work on the rear of the trailer for a luggage rack?

TG Twinkie 12-10-2011 09:19 PM

I would advise against putting a luggage rack on the rear bumper. AS's are noted for rear end sag or separation. Adding weight to the rear of the unit may exacerbate the problem.

its not an airstream its a silver streak :( very hard to find info on these. they were made by a original owner of the airstream co that decided to branch out on his own.
